October 4, 2016 - September 11th Victim Compensation Fund to Begin Making Group B Payments

The VCF Special Master, Rupa Bhattacharyya, announced yesterday that the VCF will begin making payments on Group B claims.  Funding for Group B claims became available on October 1, as set forth by the 2015 Reauthorization Act.

Group B claims include all claims that were not settled prior to December 18, 2015, the date the Reauthorization Act became law.  The VCF has advised us that claims will be processed in the order in which they were filed.  That is, the VCF will prioritize older claims over more recently filed claims.  The VCF anticipates that all claims that were fully submitted more than two years ago will be resolved by the end of 2016.  The VCF will continue to accept claims until December 18, 2020.
