We continue to work from home, but do want to provide an update on our office operations.
Our fax number is operating and incoming faxes being forwarded to us electronically.
Mail sent to 291 Broadway is being forwarded to us, but there may be some delays. Other delivery services (UPS/FedEx) may not be able to make deliveries to our office for the time being.
Our office voicemail is being checked regularly throughout the day.
Email remains the most reliable method to contact us: Robert Ungaro ( robert@nycdisabilitylaw.com); Nick Cifuni (nick@nycdisabilitylaw.com); Dan Jaffe (dan@nycdisabilitylaw.com). Paralegals: Toni-Ann Kreisberg (tkreisberg@nycdisabilitylaw.com); Diana Zebinato (diana@nycdisabilitylaw.com).
The Social Security Administration is attempting to conduct hearings by telephone. However, we have had limited success in conducting these hearings, and are generally more likely to adjourn pending hearings, with some exceptions.
The NYPD Medical Division is suspending most Medical Board appearances. The Pension Board is still meeting as scheduled.
The Victim Compensation Fund is postponing all Eligibility Appeal hearings pending resolution of the crisis, but is conducting Compensation Appeal hearings by telephone. The VCF is otherwise operating normally, but will give some leeway in responding to Missing Information Letters, with the understanding that it may not be possible to respond promptly due to the pandemic. The VCF and our office are processing payments as normal.
Please keep yourselves, your families and your coworkers safe. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
