VCF Revises Registration Requirements

The VCF has announced that it will treat all claims as having been timely registered, so long as the claim is registered within two years of when the VCF was reauthorized on July 29, 2019. Accordingly all claims that have been registered, including claims that have already been denied because they were not timely, are now being treated as timely.

The VCF has advised that it will review all claims previously denied due to timeliness issues, and that we should not need to take any corrective action. However, if your claim was previously denied, we encourage you to reach out to our office to confirm that your claim has been reopened.

Further, if you previously considered filing a claim, but decided against doing so because your claim was not timely, you may now pursue that claim under the new guidelines. The VCF will continue to treat all claims as timely so long as they are filed by July 29, 2021 (or within two years of being notified that your condition resulted from your exposure).

Please feel free to contact your office if you have any questions, or would like to pursue a claim that was previously considered untimely. (212) 766-5800.
